Mrs. Greening's News

September 3, 2013

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend with your child and families. Although it is sad to see the warm, care-free days of summer come to an end, we have a very exciting and fun year of learning ahead.

Throughout this short week, as we start to fall into routines, we will be doing many classroom activities that involve working together, getting to know one another, thinking, having fun, and setting the tone for the rest of the school year. I want the children to feel comfortable participating in my classroom and love coming to school every day.

You, as well as your child, will regularly have homework, starting tonight! Do not be alarmed. Your homework will usually consist of checking your child’s homework and reading any notes that I send home. In addition, your child’s homework should not take longer than one hour.

I am sure you are full of questions about our classroom and class. Attached is A Guide to Class 4-2, which explains our class schedule, my homework policy, and includes other important information. I am hoping this information will help answer some of your present questions and concerns. Any lingering questions can be answered on Open School Night, Tuesday, September 17th. Please fill out and return the Student Contact Information and Conference Times forms as soon as possible. Thank you!

With the anticipation of waiting for the first day of school now over, I look forward to helping your child grow as a learner and an individual throughout the school year.

Kindly,

Mrs. Greening and  Mrs. Gillen
